The Choctawhatchee Bay is 27 miles long, 1-6 miles wide, from 10-43 feet deep and over 129 square miles. It takes it name from the Chatot Indians, who were associated with both the Choctaw and Chickasaw tribes. Running along the southern edge of the bay is the Intercoastal Waterway that runs from Panama City to Pensacola. The main feature we enjoy is the Gulf access via Destin's East Pass at the west end of the peninsula . The Bay features flats to deep water bayous, canals and creeks. Many communities and subdivisions are situated along the bay with large and small size marinas. The Bay offers a wide array of home styles, condos and townhomes with boat docks. An important factor to consider is your boat size and depth of water you will need.
